The most exciting game of round 3 in the LNB took place in San Cristobal. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of Metros (9-7) to Titanes (10-6) 88-85 on Saturday evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Titanes made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for point guard Richard Bautista (185-1997, agency: BMS Sport Agency) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. American-Argentinian guard Romeao Ferguson (196-1997, college: Lipscomb) helped adding 21 points. The best for the losing side was center Eloy Vargas (211-1988, college: Kentucky, agency: BIG) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 17 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Titanes is looking forward to face Marineros (#6) in Puerto Plata in the next round. Metros will play at home against Indios and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Reales (10-5) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat Indios (8-7) in La Vega 85-71. It was a quality performance for American swingman Micheal Warren (196-1995, college: CSUN, agency: BMS Sport Agency) who led the winners and scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Sterling Manley accounted for 8 points and 16 rebounds. Luismal Ferreiras (200-2003, agency: BMS Sport Agency) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 21 rebounds for Indios in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Reales will play against Caneros (#3) in La Romana in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Indios will play on the road against Metros in Santiago and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Puerto Plata was also quite interesting. Caneros (10-6) played at the court of Marineros (6-9). Caneros defeated Marineros 94-83 on Saturday.
